This Torsby watch is a bit strange. The off center face with the seemingly useless space expanded to the left, coupled with the minimalistic design makes for an interesting look whether you’re lounging with the kids or taking your mistress to a black tie affair. Classy? Yes. Quirky? Definitely.

First up in our exclusive trip to the Swatch Group’s Basel Show… Glashutte. First off, the handmade aviator you see before you is only about $8900 with big date and $4900 without. This means that any one of us can own a truly hand-made timepiece for less than the price of used Crown Victoria. Not too bad.
The Senator Navigator hearkens back to Glashutte’s experience as a munitions maker during a certain uncomfortable era in German history. Both models, with or without the big date, are automatics and have a completely manufactured movement.
Next, we have the PanoNavigator. OH. MY. GOD!

Just got back from the Swatch Group Basel show here in New York. I have about 50 millions pictures to sort through, but it will be worth the wait.

The rules are simple – send in your best vacation-related watch shots (girlfriend in a bikini and an Aqua Terra, ahem…) and we’ll put the best ones up for a vote. The winner, by popular choice, wins a Tauchmeister 1937 – Diver Craft 1000M Helium-Safe GMT Retrograde. A gem in the Ebay galaxy, this watch was relatively well reviewed and I’d be happy to share it with one of our fine readers. Send photos to contest at wristwatchreview dot com with the subject “VACATION CONTEST.”
The contest ends this Friday, June 16.

In honor of Bathys decision to make an automatic model, a Bathys fan created this love song to the brand. Purdy.

Kiber just launched a new chrono, the 6040/1030. Nice movement and looks at an affordable price.
Kiber introduces a new model in a great summer look! This latest Kiber model has an ETA Valjoux 7750 automatic chronograph movement. Other great brands use this movement but only Kiber brings it for only €. 695,00. The unique light yellow dial makes the watch look fresh and big.

We’re not big on the wrist computers over here, but it’s interesting to see watch companies create stuff to compete with the stuff that is essentially driving them out of business: cellphones and their ubiquitous clocks. This Citizen monster has Bluetooh built-in so you can take calls on your wrist, like a mad-eyed Dick Tracy.
A small organic EL display is used to display name of the caller if the phone has an entry for it.
Another very useful feature of the Bluetooth watch is that it notifies you if you leave your phone behind.
They’re only making 5000 of these, so get cracking.

Harry over at Watchinghorology has put up a gallery of Peter Speake-Marin watches. Classic lettering and a dial reminiscent of submarine guages. Feast your looking-balls on these watches.

Fans of the automatic movement watches, and what woman/man isn’t, will be pleased to note that Rado has released the Sintra with the old automatronic-movementation. Even better, they’ve upgraded their Rado Diastar to automatic movement also.
Robert-Jan over at Fratello Watches notes that these are made from ceramic, unscratchable materials, which means it’s got beauty and brawn.

Another day, another NASCAR themed Tissot. This time they turned the Valjoux PRS 516 automatic chrono and the T-Race, as well as the PR50, not shown here, into a NASCAR pace watch. I really like the Valjoux, which will sell for about a grand.
PRS 516 Valjoux NASCAR Limited Edition
The PRS 516 Valjoux NASCAR Limited Edition features dynamic materials, including the NASCAR logo engraved on steering wheel cut-out with see-through case back. This timepiece also features a carbon dial and a sophisticated Valjoux chronograph, bringing the precision of a Swiss-Made automatic movement to select fans. Inspired by the passion and precision in motor sports, this timepiece is limited to 500 pieces worldwide, paying homage to NASCAR’s ultimate race in Daytona, Florida. The PRS 516 Valjoux NASCAR will retail for $1,150.

I hate myself for doing this, but people are silly and they’ll do anything, so here’s a link to the Tauchmeister sale page. Are these watches any good? Not specifically, but they’re cheap and they’re all on sale so you don’t have to fight a bunch of n00bs on Ebay. Purchase with the caveat that you’re buying for looks, not build quality, and be happy.

This clock is a perfect cube twice a day. All the other times it looks like something out of Hellraiser.
The rest of the time one of the corners sprouts a series of triangles that rotate, filling the roles of hour, minute, and second hands. It looks kind of difficult to tell time on the thing, though pretty easy to lose yourself in the edgy 3-D shapes that emerge as the seconds tick by.
