ChristiesA recent watch sale at Christie’s in Geneva netted a total of $15.6 million dollars, with the number one item, “a gold 1925 Patek Philippe “Grogan” single-button split-second chronograph, made for a left-handed wearer.” going for a hefty $1.9 million. This is reportedly the highest price for a watch at a Christie’s auction. The runner up, “The James Schulz platinum single-button chronograph features a minute-repeating calendar.” went for a mere $1.09 million.
The record for the most expensive watch ever goes to another Patek, a hair over $11 million ($11,003,500 to be precise). That one was sold by Sotheby’s in 1999. And you can’t have that one either.
