Charging a Kinetic With a Sonicare Toothbrush Charger

philips-sonicare-elite.jpgUmm? Amazing? True? Dangerous?

Last night, when I was brushing my teeth with my sonicare tootbrush, I thought of using the charger to charge my watch. I said, what the heck, my watch is 7 years old anyway and I put the watch on top of the toothbrush charger. I left it overnight and lo and behold this morning , it was at full charge. The only thing I noticed is that the watch is a bit warm and I thought it might have been overcharged. Up to now, the watch is in full charge. It would have been better if I had monitored the charging until it was full charge or used a timer to avoid overcharging.

Will any toothbrush charger work or does it hav e to be a Sonicare?

Did you put the watch face down or face up?

Did you position the watch body over the opening?

    Thanks,

    Randy

I side with Mr. Jones on the watch charging. I bought a sonicare toothbrush and managed to charge my seiko kinetic watch only once. I did not make specific notes about exactly how my watch was placed on the sonicare toothbrush charger, and now it is stillan experiment. I have moved the watch at least 3 times to different positions and gotten no charge. I need to see an illustration or picture of how the watch must be placed on the charger. HELP!!!

I had an insight from this site and tried with my oral-B toothbrush charger for my Seiko kinetic watch with 5M43movement. It was a real fun to find out how quickly it can charge uptothe maximum level (indicating 30secs). I searched on the internet where the inducing coil exists for my watch and I found it sits on 10′oclock to 8o’clock position.
Just put the watch parallel to the coil post in the middle of the Oral-B charger unit as close as possible to that inducing coil inside the watch.
