The watch is fine. The leather straps "disintegrate between 12 - 18 months depending on wear."
Not much value at 125 pounds sterling! Beware - you have been warned. Get the metal strap.

Watches are basically an expense, so if one wants a fine watch it is financially prudent to make the purchase at the best possible price.

Quartz watch movements compared to mechanical movements are somewhat like comparing a new composite tennis racket with a wooden tenis racket. Therefore, quartz movements probably are a better choice to most people, as they offer better performance and lower maintenance costs than mechanical movements. CW shrewdly offers customers the choice.

CW watches appear to offer the right mix of aesthetics and performance, at a friendly price.

Hi E.M. - first, welcome to the blogging world and congrats on your first post here!

Nice article about Christopher Ward. I wrote about them on my own blog not too long ago also ... great prices for ETA movement watches, especially when you consider what other brands are charging for so-called premium watches using the same calibers.

What I especially appreciated was that he was truthful with his branding - ETA movements, just cheaper than others by having no storefront. No hiding behind fancy language tarting up his watches or trying to infer differences that don't really exist, like I see in many of the other ETA based brands marketing, It was refreshingly honest. (Plus I personally like both his aviator watches, and the divers.)

Cheers from Canada.
