The 101 and 201 have been out for some years, but are showing their age (serial data ports and a slightly larger case and less battery duration). My 101 is very waterproof and very useful. The 301 claims a better reciever – we’ll see.

I just checked out their site. There’s also a 101 and 201 that are out now. The 301 and 401 are slated to release fall 09. The reason I wanted to go there was to check battery life. As a smaller unit, I’d expect an shortcoming would be batteries. 15-18hrs is all that’s listed for these four.
Compared to the equal ($249.99) eTrex, the Legend HCx,
the eTrex series isn’t much bigger (401= 2.9″x1.7″) (Legend=4.2″x2.2″) or weigh much more (401=3.1oz, Legend=5.5oz). However, the Legend has color, 25hr battery life, mapping and maps.
I bought a nylon wrist carrier for my eTrex, as I didn’t like it bobbing around on it’s neck lanyard.

I don’t know if there’s any technology in it that makes reception better on the Fortrex. I doubt I’ll look at it when it comes out.
