Own a bit of Hollywood memorabilia: Marlon Brando’s watch is going up for auction

vacheron-constantin-brandoThe movie “On the Waterfront” is a classic. A masterpiece of directing, writing, and acting.. it features Marlon Brando at the peak of his ability. Much like the Vacheron & Constantin presented to a young Mr. Brando by his co-star, Eva Gabor to celebrate his Oscar nomination. And much like the fighter that he portrayed, the watch is slightly worn around the edges, but is made from 18k gold. It’s also coming up for auction on September 17th, and expected to sell for anywhere from $3000 – $5000 dollars.

This looks like a model similar to mine.It must have the 1001 V&C movement. In it’s day, this was one of the slimmest manual wind movements and the ultimate in elegance.Only the best for Marlon.I’m sure he appreciated the gift from Zsa Zsa Gabor.
