I honestly don’t recall how I caught wind of the Deep Blue brand, but once I started perusing what they have on offer, I was definitely intrigued.  Today, we’re going to take a closer look at the Alpha Marine model.  As you can see by the image to the right, what we have is a fairly standard-looking diver, nothing too earth shattering.  Though, those road-flare orange numbers, indices and hands sure do grab your attention, don’t they?  For me, the real treat with this watch begins when the lights go down.

Once your surroundings have dimmed, you’ll quickly notice that the watch dial is fully lumed in a sort of sky-blue color (as is the indicator at 12 o’clock on the bezel).  This combines with the orange to great effect, as shown in the image at the bottom of this post.  Of course, if you’d prefer a different color combination, Deep Blue has some options for you.  You can swap out the orange shown here for green, or you can do with an orange dial and blue numbers/indicators/hands.

Once you get past the surface of the watch, you’ll find the following:

• 46mm stainless steel case
• 22mm stainless steel bracelet
• Swiss ETA 2824-2 automatic movement with date function
• Sapphire crystal with anti-reflective coating
• 500m Water Resistance
• Uni-directional 120 click bezel
• MSRP:  $599
• 1 year manufacturer’s warranty

And, though their specs page doesn’t itemize it out, it does appear that the crown screws down, from what I can tell from the product images (and the fact it’s WR to 500m).  Overall, this seems to be another solid addition to the plethora of dive watches out there you could choose from.  While it sticks to the standard formula in the looks department, the usage of colors along with the fully-lumed dial make it an intriguing option.
