It’s time once again for us to take a peek at the Zeon American catalog, this time focusing in on a fashion brand that carries the name of English Designer Vivienne Westwood.
The first model we’ll be looking at is one from the Orb collection (specifically, ref. VV006RSSL). Of the ones we’ve got coming up for review, this is definitely what I would consider to be the most dressy piece. The 30mm stainless steel case features a rose gold-tone bezel, which is also picked up (the colors, that is) in the solid link bracelet.
In case you were uncertain that this is a women’s model based on the size, the heart theme would definitely tip you off. First, you have a rather large heart inlayed on the dial, in a textured sunburst pattern of sorts. Complementing that, you’ve got a heart tipping the seconds hand as well.
As far as the dial goes, it’s reasonably readable, with an odd mix of Roman and Arabic numerals in place. Regardless of which type is used, they’re all rose gold-tone as well.
There is one more “fashion” element to the piece as well. Between the 7 and 8 o’clock positions, there’s a charm dangling off the outside of the case (and this is something we’ll see on some other models as well). Not something I’d personally look for in a watch, but I’m a guy. So, let’s see what my wife thought:
To being with, I’m not a huge fan of the heart motif – so this watch isn’t particularly something I’d consider. That said, I do like the two tone metal.
The watch is comfortable – it feels just like wearing a bracelet. I have to say, though, I do not understand the need for the charm on the watch. Maybe this is just the thing that this designer does? At a retail price of $325, I feel it’s overpriced.
I was able to find some other variants around the web for closer to $250, but it still is one that’s on the higher end for a quartz with a 30m water resistance rating. If your wife or girlfriend really is into hearts, though, this could be a nice, dressy option.
