What Prometheus Is Doing About Movements

Posted on 21 October 2012 by Patrick Kansa

In case you didn’t hear, the Swatch Group is really tightening up the supply of ETA movements to those not part of Swatch Group.  We’ve made educated guesses that this will force many manufacturers to either raise prices, or switch to other sources for their movements.

One brand that we like to keep an eye on, Prometheus, has a fairly detailed writeup on their plans here.  I really recommend you give it a read, as I think it’s applicable to a lot of the smaller makes in the market.  Also, you can get a handy comparison of what other movements are comparable to, say, and ETA 2824-2.
