Tokyo Flash Rogue 01

TokyoFlash Gets Less Cryptic

Tokyo Flash Rogue 01

TokyoFlash has made a name for themselves creating digital watches that can be… a wee bit tough to read.  With one of their latest designs, the Kisai Rogue Touch Silicon, they have bucked their own trend a bit, and created a watch with two time zones that is actually readable at a glance, with a minimal amount of training.

The Rogue Touch is a (obviously) digital watch with a silicone case and strap that uses segmented concentric circles to tell the time.  The outermost circle is divided into 12 segments, alternating thick and thin every two, while the next ring in is a series of 60 smaller dots, indicating the minutes.  The hour indicator is the segment which is not shown, so for the watches above, it 8:07 on the left and 8:09 on the right.  For the white watch in the first image, it is 6:23 (the watch is 90 degrees CW).  to the outside of the thinner hour segments, the second indicator can be seen, though it is hidden every other 10 second segment.  The next two inner rings are used for a second time zone, with the missing segment in the outer ring showing the hours and the 60 part inner segment again showing the minutes.  In addition to the two time zones, there is a date display and an alarm mode.

At 46mm in diameter, it is going to be pretty prominent on the wrist, but the silicone case and strap should make it wear comfortably.  The LCD display makes the watch readable in the light, while the LED backlight illuminates the display at night.  The watch can be ordered in white or black, with red, green, blue or natural (green LCD, blue LED lighting)  display color options.  Check out the watch, or check out other TokyoFlash designs to see if anything gets your inner geek flag flying.  tokyoflash.com
