
Talk about some nice alignment of coincidences – yesterday I brought up our review (parts 1 and 2) of the Ocean7 sapphire-bezeled LM-5, and then I run across an upcoming Lum-Tec model that features a lumed sapphire bezel as well, the 300-M series. One of the most obvious places to turn would be Lum-Tec, and I’m doing just that. Today, we’re going to have a look at their M41 model, which is currently up for pre-order at $825. Why this particular automatic? While I am a sucker for the black/orange combo they’ve gone with, it was the lume shot (over to the right there) that got me – the blue/orange lume combo just plain looks cool.

Lum-Tec just posted this striking shot of their new B8 chronograph. I love the styling and quality – Lum-Tec is great at PVD coatings and lume – but I’m sad, so sad that it has a Japanese quartz movement. Oh well.

CG favorite Lum Tec just came out with the C series of heavy lume watches. The C3, shown here, has a PVD case, tinted crystal, black dial with GX lume, and sells for $395. The best part? LUM-TEC is using a restored vintage automatic movement in these, essentially recycling old movements for placement into a new case. That’s the first I’ve ever heard of anyone doing that and it essentially circumvents ETA’s draconian sales policies while adding a touch of class. Good stuff.
