Stanton Is Introducing A New Model

Posted on 18 June 2013 by Patrick Kansa

Stanton LES Series II (2)

If you recall, I first brought word of Stanton to you back in March (link) when I covered their very nice ladies automatic model. Today, we’re going to take a look at a watch that is just being introduced.

This new watch is called the L.E.S. Edition – Series II, and represents the first time that Stanton has created a second edition for any of their models. The original edition featured a 40mm case and a blue sunray dial. This new edition carries the same case forward, but the dial has changed.

Stanton LES Series II (4)

Now, the watch will have dial with a silver center and white edge, along with the same sunray effect that the original had. They’ve also added some gold marks at each hour marker for a bit of an accent to the piece.

As with the other models in the lineup, this one will feature a Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, which can be seen through the sapphire exhibition caseback. Up front, you also have a sapphire crystal, covering that new dial and the stick hands. Rounding things out, you have a 20mm alligator strap on a deployant clasp to hold it on your wrist.

Stanton LES Series II (1)

Overall, this is a tidy dress watch that’s got some sportwatch leanings (case size, bezel shape, 50m WR). The pictures of the white and silver dial seem interesting, and I’m guessing it will work well to break up what some may perceive to be the monotony of the dress watch segment.

The L.E.S. Edition – Series II will be available for $1,095 when it goes on sale. And here’s where things get a bit interesting, as the watch is only up for pre-order at this time. If you’d like to get your reservation in before the watch goes live on their site (and a waiting list builds), you’ve got two options. You can either sign up for their email List to be notified when the pre-order opens up, or you can send them an email, and let them know you heard about the watch here on WWR.

Orient Introduces The Star Standard In White

Posted on 17 April 2013 by Patrick Kansa

dsc_2261_1 (1)

For whatever reason, watches with white dials have really been drawing my eye as of late, I find myself thinking about swapping in sort of white dial piece that will work as a dressier watch.  Today’s entry from Orient may be just the thing (unless someone has a spare one of these laying around they could send over).
