I remember when Storm made their bones building watches with little telescoping irises in the middle to protect the face. My buddy wore one when he was teaching at a college so he wouldn’t be drawn to checking the time every five minutes. Storm has grown up a lot since then, as evidenced by this handsome titanium diver with Kevlar strap.

The watch costs $450 and has a date register and standard Swiss quartz movement. It’s water-resistant to 1000m and is 45mm wide. You could do worse than this watch and at below $500 for a Swiss quartz it’s pretty reasonable. It looks much better than whatever this is supposed to be.

Unless Storm of London official got permission to call their watch Darth, I’d be a little worried. Regardless, this is a pretty cool piece with three coo-centric circles that show the time. It comes in black, blue, chrome and white and is currently sold out at $170.00.

It looks a bit like some of the vintage jump hours you see on sites like Watchismo but with a name like Darth you can pretend you’re a Sith.

So this is pretty cool. It’s an LED watch with a touch screen for changing the modes. I’m probably going to do up a proper review next week, but here’s a quick look for you to whet the appetite.

My buddy Scott had a Storm watch for teaching. Instead of glancing at his watch while he was at the lectern he would wear an earlier model of the Storm and check the time only when absolutely necessary because the central iris closes when you’re not checking the time.

This new model, which costs about $180 has updated styling and seems to mimic the Hublot Big Bang without that whole “this costs $100,000 for no reason” thing.
