Introducing 6B Watches

Posted on 04 February 2014 by Patrick Kansa

Readers of this site will be familiar with the brand GasGasBones, as we reviewed their rather excellent nylon-and-velcro straps back in July of 2012. While they’re still turning out a variety of straps, they’ve expanded into other leather goods, as well as trying their hand at making a watch – the 6B MK1. Continue Reading

Dubey & Schaldenbrand Grand Dome DT Review

Posted on 31 October 2013 by Patrick Kansa

Often, when you’re searching for a dressier watch, you find the same designs and combinations, often in a three-hand style. While there’s nothing wrong with that style (it’s a classic for a reason), it’s nice now and again to have something a bit different come up – and that’s what we have today from Dubey & Schaldenbrand. Ernst-Benz-Chronodiver (15)

We’ve reviewed a handful of Ernst Benz models here, and they’ve all been very well put-together and tidy chronographs (seen here). Given that track record, it should be no surprise, then, that the Chonodiver is another very nice chronograph in the same mold. Continue Reading

Time To Study Up on the Valjoux 7750

Posted on 13 January 2013 by Patrick Kansa

I’ve shown you four watches recently (see here) that feature what’s becoming one of my favorite movements, the Valjoux (or ETA) 7750 Chronograph.  There’s actually some great history here – and Gear Patrol has a nice writeup on the movement, and how it may have saved the mechanical watch industry.

It’s a nice light read for your Sunday morning coffee – check it out here.  And once you’ve done that, let me know in the comments what your favorite 7750-powered watch is; maybe you’ll see it in a hands-on review!  And if you’re unsure what may be powered by the movement, you may want to check out this article over on Chronomaddox.
