A Wooden Arrow
I am a fan of watches made from alternative materials, and have always likes wooden watches, though I have yet to pull the trigger on one myself. A new watch project on kickstarter, The Arrow Project Watch, is an easy way to jump on the wooden watch trend yourselves. The watch itself is a basic quartz three hander with date, styled like a diver. The movement is not specified, so it is pretty likely that the watch is not going to contain a name brand movement, especially not for $99 Australian Dollars ($90 US), plus shipping.
What works for me is that the case is all wood, crown, back, lugs, everything. There is a simple clasp on the bracelet, and that is metal, but if you want the feel and look of wood all around, then this is a nice option. The watch is 42mm, so it is small enough by today’s standards to work for both men and women. The watch itself uses sandalwood, a fragrant wood whose oils are often used in various colognes and aromatherapy products. The watch should remain fragrant (though I expect it would be a faint fragrance) for quite some time (the makers claim decades).
A day into the project, they were funded at about 1/3 of their modest $4,000 goal, so I do expect that this project will be funded.
