So, do you remember back in April when we ran a different contest for the Gavox Legacy? We had quite a few different entries, and with the help of Gavox, we narrowed things down to our top 3 favorite stories (a recap can be found here). Our winner, Matt, was going to wear the watch on the biggest day of his life – his wedding.
We see a lot of dive watches here at WWR. We even have a special category for divers, making your search on our site easier. Plus, I am a diver myself, so we enjoy writing up attractive and sensible dive watches. And that is where this retro inspired new diver comes in. The MachesterWatchWorks Tatoskok automatic is the third shot at the crowdfunding market, and I think they hit a good mix of design, features and value.
Titanium seems to be a popular material for watches these days. At least, that is, for watches that have been crossing my desk. As we saw with the Tempest Commodore, titanium helps cut down the weight of a watch while still offering strength and durability. Today, we’ll take a look at another one that leverages those attributes, the Shinola Black Blizzard.
Hubris is an interesting thing in the watch industry. You have to have it, or else you are never going to put out a watch. It takes an ego to try and sell a product that (hopefully) lots of people will wear on a daily basis, especially in an already crowded market. But too much hubris and you come off looking silly. By the response that Elliot Havok Timepieces is having with their Kickstarter launch, they seem to have struck the right chord.

H2O Helberg CH5 03H2O Watches makes dive watches, ranging from the standard to the ‘out there’. Now, with the H2O Helberg CH5, they are moving into another popular design style, the military pilot watch.
When it comes to dive watches, the past few years have seen an explosion of brands offering very competent and well-designed pieces, often times powered by Japanese automatic movements. Tempest is one of those brands, and they first caught my eye with the high-domed Viking. Today, we are taking a look at their latest offering, the Tempest Commodore.

Now, Zelos Watches is back for their third launch on Kickstarter, the serious bronze diver, the Zelos Abyss.
Tissot is a brand that I am aware of, but have not been around much. This changed recently when then loaned me the T-Touch Expert Solar and the Tissot Quickster for hands on reviews. The Swiss watchmaker produces a variety of watches, including these two models that are geared toward the action oriented.
