I’ll be the first to admit – the prior post on the CW Jumping Hand was a bit unfair, as the model is now unavailable.  So, I’m making amends with this post, and offering up the C9 Harrison Automatic for your consideration.  Let me start by stating that yes, it is indeed currently available, and for a very reasonable $489.

This is  a watch that I would classify as a dress watch, with its classic and subtle styling.  The Harrison name apparently is in reference to John Harrison, who, 250 years ago, created the H4 chronometer.  It is comprised of a 43mm polished case with an AR-coated sapphire crystal that is water resistant to 50 meters.  Under the dial, you have the (ever-present) ETA 2824-2 Swiss automatic mechanical movement, complete with a 38-hour power reserve.

What might not make it such a great dress watch is the fact that it’s 13mm thick, which might make it difficult to slip under a shirt cuff.  Outside the cuff, though, I couldn’t help but to repeat a line from CW’s page – “the overall effect is one of sublime coalescence of style and function.”  The do appear to be a limited edition, as they state the caseback will have an individually numbered serial engraved.  If you liked what you saw with their Jumping Hand model, this is definitely a more attainable option you should explore.
