Kings of the knurl, Breitling, have announced the availability of the Navitimer 1884 Limited Edition, a sexy black chrono with a 46mm case, day/month window, date hand, as well as a 24-hour register at 9 o’clock.

For your money you get a COSC-certified piece and this model – the black on white – is limited to 1,884 watches so you’d better get down to your local watch shop/pilot store.

?Issued in a 1,884-piece limited series, this Navitimer 1884 stands out with its generous 46 mm case accentuating the character of the design, as well as optimizing dial readability. In addition to the choice of a bracelet or a leather or crocodile leather strap, this model is also available with a new black rubber strap featuring an aircraft tire-tread motif.

Expect to pay about $7,500 for the pleasure of owning this Breitling, which, arguably, isn’t much for a nice COSC-certified chrono with date complications. It’s sexy like a chocolate strawberry, to be sure, and I’m really pleased with the understated dial. It’s a unique piece that may make me like Breitling again.
