Need a utilitarian watch and don’t have a lot of dough to throw around?  Then Cadence has a deal that’s right up your alley.

Let’s get the big news out of the way first – they’ve got their Wrist Rocket 2 on sale for only $19 (use the code ItIsAWatch19 at checkout), down from the regular price of $69 – nice savings, no?  Just get your order in before November 5th.

We’ve got your attention on the price side of things, I think.  Now, is the watch actually worth even $20?  I think so.  While the design and specs aren’t anything that will knock your socks off, it is great for a beater:

  • 42mm diameter black or silver/black ABS case
  • Polyurethane strap with stainless-steel buckle
  • Digital (BN045 movement) and Analog (Seiko AL21) displays
  • Mineral glass
  • 50 meter water resistance rating

Given that you’ve got the two different movements and displays here, you could pretty easily track two time zones with the watch.  And with that ABS case and basic WR rating, I think this would be a good watch for banging around in the workshop or doing yardwork.  In other words, it’ll hold up to the abuse, and you won’t particularly mind if it gets beat up.

It’s an interesting deal for sure.  Let us know if you pick one up – or, if you like, let us know what your “beater” watch is, and maybe we’ll dig into those other options some more.
