In terms of wrist watches, the Consumer Electronics Show is not really where we’d be focusing. If you did that, you’d miss out on the smart watch releases, however. While we don’t feel that everyone needs one for all-day use, they are definitely handy for sleep tracking, silent alarms, and tracking your workout. If you’re looking for a new one, you’ll want to know about the news from Fossil and Citizen.

The news here can be summarized by big brands – who already build WearOS watches – going with their own platforms. For Fossil, this is being done so they can enable a hybrid watch (e-ink display plus traditional hands) to give a crazy-long battery life. For Citizen, though, it’s all about understanding just how fatigued you are, amongst the other smartwatch stuff.
