While I might hesitate to use the label “indie diver” for Deep Blue, I think it’s safe to say that is the category in which they belong. Compared to most of the brands you might lump in there, they are relatively long in the tooth, but I think that staying power says something about the brand.  To commemorate hitting their 10-year anniversary, they have released a special watch.

That watch?  Well, it’s a mouthful – it’s the Deep Blue “Master 2000 Diver” Limited Edition.    What I dig about this particular watch is that it’s a classic diver – big and bold, and quite obviously built to a task (look at those giant sword hands!)  Of course, keeping things very much Deep Blue, the lume is bombastic (and what is originally caught my eye with the brand so many years ago).

I also like the fact that they offer the new watch in a Deep Blue “Master 2000 Diver” Limited Edition of styles and colors.  For being a limited edition, there are actually thirteen different variants.  All share the same specs (you can see all of those below), but bring in different case finishes, dial styles, and handset colors.  Basically, if you like divers and you can’t find a color combo that you like?  Well, then, there’s just no help for you.

Deep Blue has been putting out great dive watches for 10 years now (well, at least from what I’ve read, I’ve not actually seen on in person), and the Deep Blue “Master 2000 Diver” Limited Edition looks to continue that trend as well.  Depending on the variant, you can pick up one of these ETA 2824-2 driven beasties for between $800 and $900, which is a nice price to pay for a 2000m diver with a ceramic bezel, a Swiss movement, and the crazy lume the brand puts on their pieces.  deepbluewatches.com
