Fashion house Diesel has jumped on the smartwatch gravy train with their new ON Full Guard, an Android Wear smartwatch with Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 processor and a sexytime case. The watch costs $325.
What’s special about the watch? Writes Diesel:
With the smartwatch, Diesel is also excited to debut its watch app, Diesel T-ON-I, which will create a unique experience for the user. T-ON-I, which stands for Time, Organizing, Notification, Intelligence, serves as a “wingman” on the wrist of watch wearers, giving users their notifications in a distinctly Diesel way.
Experience snowfall, rain or a lightning strike on the dial of your watch when weather conditions change in your current location
If you are lagging on the day’s activity goal, the watches’ dial will begin gathering dust. In order to get rid of the dust, get moving!
T-ON-I, which stands for Time, Organizing, Notification, Intelligence, serves as a “wingman” on the wrist of watch wearers, giving users their notifications in a distinctly Diesel way.
The watch app syncs to your agenda, weather and step tracker and gives you prompts in a Diesel-like way.
Throughout the day, T-ON-I will send you messages that relate to the weather, your schedule, or your activity. You can swipe to dismiss the message, or tap the message to enter the app.
You can also specify if you would like T-ON-I to ONLY give you weather updates, or ONLY agenda updates, or ONLY random updates, or all updates.
You can select how many times you would like T-ON-I to “talk” to you per day, from 1-5 times.
You will also choose your wake-up time, so T-ON-I knows when to start talking to you.
Once you are inside the app, you can view the weather, your schedule, or your step activity. There are icons that help illustrate these points.
These messages are supposed to “tease” you, or give you a hard time, like a friend would. They are intended to be edgy and funny, giving more personality to the watch.
Hot outside: The forecast for today is sunny with a chance of drinks. #Win.
Low step count: Every little bit counts, especially when it comes to leftover pizza.
Light agenda, not many meetings on calendar: Hangover? Bored? Unemployed? I approve.
Whew. That’s a lot of weird interface stuff. Anyway, you can probably get a cheaper Android Wear watch out there but with all the weirdness that Diesel has stuffed into this thing it might be worth the three bills. Thank you for reading this WristWatchReview post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.
WristWatchReview is one of the few remaining truly independent watch news outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent watch sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis. We don't play the games the other sites play and we've paid for it when it comes to ad revenue.
