Looks like Victorinox didn’t to let B&R (amongst others) be the only ones digging into their own past for a new collection.  Not surprisingly, they’re calling it the Classic model.  What does all of this reminiscing get you?  Let’s have a closer look.

For the asking price of $295, you’ll get a watch with the following:

  • A 40 mm Nylon Fiber case with aluminum bezel and stainless steel case back
  • Swiss analog quartz movemen
  • Shatter resistant, hardened mineral crystal
  • Luminous hands
  • Date Calendar
  • Nylon “NATO” Strap
  • WR: 100m

Nothing fancy, nothing overly complicated.  Just a watch that seems like it would be light-wearing on the wrist (between the case and the strap) and give you reliable, trouble-free, time keeping.  I personally like the “sandwich” style on the dial, as it hearkens to another of my favorite brands, the Panerai – albeit in a much more affordable way.  For some reason, the green one really grabbed my attention, though the bronze and grey combo looks sharp as well.

Given the materials involved, I’d be tempted to say you could wear this as a “beater” – but the price may give you second thoughts about that title.   All in all, looks like another solid and durable addition to the Swiss Army line of watches.
