Get colorful with Timex

Last week, we covered off on a dual review of both the Q Timex and it’s automatic brother, the M79 (which you can see right here). While we’re not going to presume which size of a watch a person may prefer, those watches did tend towards the larger (though, I think the Q line in general could be quite unisex). If you’ve got smaller wrists – or just like smaller watches – these colorful 36mm options from Timex could be interesting.

First up, we’ve got the very familiar look and style of the Q Timex Malibu. These look just like the slightly larger Q Timex models that came before – integrated lugs, rotating bezel, Sub-style dial design and handset. The first big variation is the bracelet. Rather than the metal bracelet that looked like an expansion bracelet, here, we actually do have a stretchy expansion bracelet, so it’s a very easy on, easy off scenario. The second change is in the colors introduced on the bracelet itself, picking up the color from the bezel. There are two versions here, both at $189 – the rose gold with popsicle blue and pink, and then yellow gold with sherbet orange and hot pink.

On the other hand, if you’re looking for shots of color in a more restrained approach, then the 36mm Waterbury Legacy Boyfriend Malibu. This does have very much a Day-Date / Datejust vibe to it, with the stick hands and indices, and of course the fluted bezel. The colors in these models are kept to the dial, with the same color then showing up in the center link of the steel bracelet. Also great for summer is the fact that these $149 watches also pack the very nice Indiglo backlighting (along with luminous hands) for quick reads of the time in the dark.

So, there you have it – two wildly different ways to get some color on your wrist this summer that will not break the bank, and will not weigh down a slender wrist. Check them all out – and order your own – over at timex.com

Thank you for reading this WristWatchReview post. With so many things competing for everyone’s attention these days, we really appreciate you giving us your time. We work hard every day to put quality content out there for our community.

WristWatchReview is one of the few remaining truly independent watch news outlets. We do not have a giant corporation behind us, and we rely heavily on our community to support us, in an age when advertisers are increasingly uninterested in sponsoring small, independent watch sites — especially a site like ours that is unwilling to pull punches in its reporting and analysis. We don't play the games the other sites play and we've paid for it when it comes to ad revenue.

We would love for you to support us on Patreon and every little bit helps. Thank you.
