I have reviewed the Traser Aurora and Pathfinder. Both were very nice but one I have been wanting to review is the P67 Officer bronze and blue. For the longest time they couldn’t keep them in stock. Finally I was able to get a hold of one to review and I am loving it.
One thing you should know about Traser is that they are owned by MB-Microtech. Now, if you are a fan of tritium watches then that should sound like a very familiar name. MB-Microtech is the leading manufacturer – if not the only manufacturer – of tritium tubes for the watch industry. Their tubes are also used in gun sites and anything else the requires these self-illuminated vials. Aside from sourcing these for other brands, they’ve got their own brand – which is how we get to this Traser review.
As you can see, this is a gorgeous watch. That blue dial set against the bronze just looks fantastic. There is nothing crazy on this dial, with light green lume painted on all the markers and hands. At a high level, the watch is a simple three-hander with a small date window at the 3 o’clock position; hiding under the dial is the very reliable Swiss made ETA 2824-2 movement. With that fantastic blue dial paired with bronze, this Traser P67 Officer Pro is sure to get some attention.
Made from bronze, this case on this Traser will take on a nice patina over time. Patina really adds a lot of character and a look that only a bronze watch can have. Measuring in at 45mm no one will thing this is a small watch, and the view on the wrist underscores that. The screw down exhibition case is made from stainless steel and through that you can see that nice ETA movement. Water resistance is a decent 10 bar or 335ft. This is not a diver, so that just fine. If you are into bronze watches then you can’t go wrong with this one.
This strap pairs beautifully with the blue dial on this Traser P67 Officer Pro. They went with a cool leather aged looking strap with bronze buckle. The leather is soft and fits very comfortably on the wrist. It has a nice look that could get as dressy as it can be casual. The dark blue is great since it does not stand out too much.
The glow on this Traser P67 Officer Pro comes from two sources; trigalight and super-luminova. The trigalight are tiny glass vials filled with tritium gas, which is an isotope of hydrogen. These vials are coated with a phosphorescent paint which react with the tritium gas. The most common tritium watches use T25 tritium tubes which have 25 millicures of tritium gas. The rest of the lume on this dial comes from the super-luminova paint. This combination gives off a great light show and what?s great is when the super-luminova wears down there will still always be light.
This one was worth the wait. To me this has it all. It can dress up and dress down per your choosing. Its blue dial is absolutely stunning and being housed in that bronze case just works so well.
