Last month I reviewed the Aquatico Nautilus II diver and really liked the quality of that watch. I wanted to see more of what they had to offer. They were kind enough to send me another one of their models. This is the new Aquatico Bronze Sea Star, and so far, this is looking pretty darn cool. Lets take a look.

The Dial

Right away you will notice something familiar with this dial. It kinda looks like a Tudor. Same hands, and similar looking hour markers. That’s a good thing. This is not a Tudor copy at all though. The bezel and raised dome give this Aquatico Bronze Sea Star its out unique look. Those Tudor style snow flake hands are mounted to the very reliable Seiko NH35 automatic movement. Protecting everything is a very thick anti-reflective coated sapphire crystal.

The Case

Made from marine grade CuSn8 bronze the case on this Aquatico measures in at 42mm in diameter. There are two different finishes used on this case. The case itself has a brushed finish and the bezel has more of a bead blasted matte finish. I really like the look of this combination. I would say this watch would be more for the desk diver, but according to specs, can be a true diver too. Water resistance is a very respectable 30 ATM or around 990ft. If you were going to use this to dive, I would recommend using a rubber or silicon strap.

The Strap

The strap on this Aquatico is thick was wears very well on the wrist. It’s surprisingly soft and fells great even after wearing all day. This has a signed pin and buckle clasp which is also made of bronze. I really like the look of it, but I do have one issue. Since the strap is so thick the buckle does not stay flush with the strap. To make it fit flush, the buckle should have been curved to match with the strap. Aside from that, this strap looks and feels great.

The Lume

The lume on this Aquatico Bronze Sea Star looks fantastic. All the hands, hour markers, and 12 o’clock marker on the bezel are painted with Superluminova BGW9 lume. This glows in a nice blue/green, and lasts for a long time. Totally love that blue/green lume!

I was pretty surprised with the quality and feel of this watch. This is a well built bronze watch which would look great for any occasion. For a price of only $299 usd, it’s hard to beat. If you like what you see, go check them out at aquaticowatch.com.
