Davosa Watches has a great line of watches. They do have some very unique watches but most of their models are homage watches. Some are clearly Rolex homages and some have hints of Omega. I just got my hands on a great example of a Rolex homage, and its a nice one.
Sporting the great looks of a Rolex Sea Dweller, the Davosa Professional TT 500m is one handsome looking watch. Hour markers, hands, and bezel are almost exactly what you would see on the Sea Dweller and are all very well done. The hands are mounted to the Swiss-made Davosa DAV3021 movement, which is basically an ETA 2824-2. You can’t go wrong with that movement. The bezel has a ceramic insert, which is great for scratch resistance and overall durability. Movement of the 120 click bezel is tight but smooth and has very little play.
The case on the Davosa Professional TT 500m is made from stainless steel with a mix of polished and brushed finishing. Measuring in at 42.5mm in diameter, its a perfect size for me. Water resistance is very good at 500m or approx. 1640ft. Just like the Sea Dweller, the Davosa Professional has a helium escape valve, useful if you are a commercial diver doing saturation diving. Now, if you are not a commercial diver, the helium escape valve is pretty useless, but cool anyway. The case is very solid and heavy but feels comfortable on the wrist.
The bracelet on the Davosa Professional TT 500m is made from stainless steel and is very comfortable to wear. I wore this one for a week and had no pinching or hair pulling issues at all. The locking clasp on this bracelet works great and also has a divers extension. If you are using these watches to actually dive you need that dive extension to fit over the wetsuit, so that’s nice to see.
Using Swiss Superluminova the glow on this watch is fantastic. Charge time is quick and the glow lasts a long time.
I have seen many homage watches. Some are very good and some are just awful. The Davosa Professional TT500m is truly an example of a very good homage watch. This is a tough watch, and is built to last. At a fraction of the price of a Rolex, this is a good deal with a Swiss movement at $849 USD.
