Let’s have another look at an American watch brand, shall we? (Please note, Hamilton is owned by Swatch now). Today, I’m going to focus in on the Team Earth Auto (ref H60455533). As should be no surprise to the readers of this blog, I’m enamored by watches that have a vintage look to them – and this one is no exception.
The black dial, khaki numbers and hands, and brown indicators, quite simply, work. It’s simple, it’s readable, and it’s a classic, and I daresay, sophisticated, color combo. When it comes to a timepiece, however, we can’t simply go based on the looks, at least in this price range. So, what beats in the heart of this Hamilton?
- ETA 2824 movement; date display at 3 o’clock
- Magnetic resistance
- 42 mm stainless steel case with 21 mm lugs
- Sapphire crystal up front, solid caseback
- WR to 100 m
- Strap: brown or green leather, or a stainless steel bracelet
- MSRP: $895 (I was able to find it for $599 on Amazon)
If there’s one thing I would consider wanting to change on this watch, however, is the coin-edge bezel. That’s a styling queue that I’ve just never gravitated towards. Ultimately, though, if one of these landed on my wrist, I wouldn’t turn it away! This particular Hamilton model provides a taste of American heritage with a Swiss heart, and looks like it would be a solid addition to your collection.
