Everyone get on board the ocean plastic train, because this one is chugging right along. Earlier today, we saw a new Shinola model using ocean plastic from #tide, and we’ve also talked about Triwa’s efforts with the same material. While Christopher Ward works in steel-cased watches, they offer textile straps – including one made with recycled ocean plastic.

On the surface, the Christoper Ward C60 #tide Strap looks much like any other woven textile strap – a bit of a weave, fairly smooth texture, and a bit of splash with the pale blue contrast stripe down the middle. The secret is hiding in plain view, of course – the plastic here is coming from material that #tide harvested. As the product page mentions, this was originally created for the C60 Blue, but it will fit into any watch with 20mm lugs. And easily so, with the quick-change spring bars.

If you’re looking to pick up a Christoper Ward C60 #tide Strap for your collection – go into it forewarned. At $75 this will no doubt be the priciest woven strap you’ve gotten for a watch. But, hey, you’re helping save the oceans, right? christopherward.com
