For many, a H. Moser & Cie watch is recognizable from a distance, with their fumé dials under a simpler leaf hands setup. So, how do you iterate and innovate? Sometimes, it’s printing a playful dial. In the case of today’s subject – H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green – it’s revisiting how that iconic fumé dial is made.

On one hand, the H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green is a newer color for the brand, so that’s worth noting. Once we get past the ombré look (lighter in the middle, darker out at the edges), we see that there’s something else going on entirely. Rather than starting with a silky smooth dial blank, Moser has gone with a hammered blank.

Well, to be fair, the H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green isn’t actually using hammering techniques. The golden base is engrained (we’re guessing that this is a press process occurring) to create the pattern. Then, over the top of that, there are three different pigments that a master enameller is combining in precisely the pattern needed, placed just so that they’ll fire and blend together properly, without any look of pixelization. Still, given the hand-created process we have here, it means that each dial will have variances, once to another.

While I myself tend towards their blue or Vantablack dials, it’s hard to deny how the hammered look of the dial of the H. Moser & Cie Endeavour Centre Seconds Concept Lime Green captures the light. While it’s not sparkly, per se, it almost feels like they’ve taken those layers of glitter we all tried to do as a kid in art class and actually managed to create what was in our imagination.
