In the fall of last year, we introduced you to the Reservoir Kanister (seen here). For this latest version, inspiration still comes from the 356 Speedster, and offers us two new things. First (and most obvious) is a new dial color. Second, we’ve got a new movement under the hood.

To start with, the Reservoir Kanister Silver has the same 41.5mm polished titanium case of the original, and the dial layout and look are the same (albeit, the red-and-green on black is gone now for silver on white). Dial-wise, this version presents as a little less flashy, and perhaps a little more dressy as well. Myself, I liked the darker base of the original with it’s pops of color, but I can see how this more conservative approach may appeal to folks shopping for an affordable luxury watch.

Inside, though, that’s the major difference here. The movement, rather than being an ETA (as it was on the original) is instead coming from La-Joux Perret, in the form of their LJP-G100 movement. This gets the Reservoir module added onto it to enable the functionality we expect from their designs, and overall gives us a very tidy bump to a 56-hour power reserve. For me, I like the fact that we see them expanding into another movement maker, which could lend them to be able to explore further customization and modification.

And hey, never hurts to see other movement suppliers getting into the mix, instead of it always being the same old crew. If you want to pick up one of these new Reservoir Kanister Silver models, they’re intended to be available in April 2022. Outside the EU, it will go for $4,400 direct from reservoir-watch.com
