Earlier this month, Swatch launched their collaboration with Peanuts – perfect timing, set as it is in the midst of when we start seeing the Peanuts specials airing on TV. My oldest kid has been super into Peanuts for as long as we can remember, so I was rather interested to see this launch announced.

On one hand, you’ve got the familiar look and feel of a plastic-encased Swatch watch; on the other hand, you’ve got them positively papered over with graphics from the comic strips that made Charlie Brown and the gang popular. To start off this collection, six different versions have been created:

All of the watches in the Swatch X Peanuts collection feature a 30m WR rating (so, ok for splashes, but don’t swim with these), silicone straps, a plastic buckle, and cases made from bio-sourced material. Aside from the colors and graphics, the size of the watches is another key difference. The Klunk! (Lucy) and Grande Bracchetto (Snoopy & Woodstock) come in at 34mm, while the other four watches are 41mm.

You can also tell them apart as the smaller two have the smaller price ($85), while the larger ones have a modest price bump up to $100. While this is where the collection has started, it seems they’ve got a teaser on their page that more will be coming, perhaps (I’m guessing) even tied into those specials we all hold near and dear. swatch.com
