If you recall, back in March we brought you a hands-on review of a new diver out of Florida, the Hexa K500 (link). Today, we’re bringing you word of their latest model, the Q500.

Now, if you’ve been around watches for any length of time, you probably realize what that Q signifies – Hexa has opted for a Miyota quartz movement (rather than the Seiko 6R15 automatic in the K500). The greatest benefit of that changeup, of course, is the fact that it allows for a lower price (more on that in a bit). Rather than rely on just the movement to differentiate the Q500, Hexa has also introduced some visual changes.

Those changes include a grey-on-grey color pallete, courtesy of the case finish (brushed or blasted), as well as the grey dial (the K500 only offered a black dial). Another change is that the Q comes standard on an Italian rubber dive strap, though you can upgrade to the 5-link bracelet with included dive extension. One last change comes with the printing on the dial, which has some slight changes as well.

Unchanged, however, is the case, which still carries the bold and chunky looks (for all intents and purposes, you could read our K500 review here to get a feel for the watch – at least until we have a review sample in to give an updated take on things). If the K500 caught your eye, but you wished the price was a bit lower, this is definitely a good day for you. Through the end of July, you can order a Q500 at the introductory price of $299 (afterwards, the price goes up to $349). hexawatches.com
