There’s no two ways about it – you put a crisp, clean watch design in front me, couch it in a classic (and compact) profile, and throw in a deep blue dial for good measure? You will have my attention, no problem. Wouldn’t you know it, the just-released Endatto C2V1 hits all those marks.

I think, for a good number of folks, if you’re thinking about getting a “nice” Swiss watch, you’re thinking in terms of a dressier piece. That can take many forms, but a polished case and clean three-hander design will get you most of the way there, along with a black calfskin strap.

In terms of a movement used here, the Endatto C2V1 has a very well-known quantity in the form of the ETA 2824-2. This will keep things going, no muss no fuss, and of course make it quite easy to get it serviced at just about any watch shop – always a plus in my book.

On the dial, I think this is where the Endatto C2V1 really shines. Yes, we’ve seen gradient dials before, but a fum? is something special. Here’s what Ted Verderame has to say about the dial’s inspiration:

Sustaining the focus on unique and original designs, the C2V1 features a stunning blue fum? dial, evoking the 320 days of clear skies in Phoenix each year from the center while simultaneously mimicking a pitch black desert night sky around the edge.

While purists might complain about a date display showing up on a dress watch, I like it’s inclusion here on the Endatto C2V1 (or any watch, for that matter) as well as the presence of luminous paint. Sure, neither are a part of a “pure” dress watch, but I find it really makes for a much more useful watch. Sure, not one to go hiking with, but one that works for 90% of what you need a watch for.

The Endatto C2V1 is the latest release from the brand, and is currently available as of today – a feat in a world where everything in the design and supply chain has been impacted by COVID. If you want to show your support for the design, you can bring $1,150 on over to their site and pick up your own. endatto.com
