Gavox-Squadron-15

It’s a new month, so that means that it’s time for us to spin up a new giveaway. This time around, we have something pretty unique for you, a Gavox Squadron.

Gavox-Squadron-18

Now, I know what you’re thinking – you have not seen this particular Gavox reviewed here.  And you would be right.  Instead, this was reviewed over at aBlogtoWatch, and the brand quite generously allowed us to slot the watch over here for the giveaway.  So, why might you be interested in this particular watch?  Well, it is truly Mil-spec.

This is because Michael Happe, the guy behind the brand, actually worked with the Belgian Air Force to design this watch.  So, while you and I are unlikely to be flying a fighter jet any time soon, this watch was designed for the folks who do precisely that.  By looking at the watch, you can easily tell that it has a chronograph function to it, which is all but expected for a pilot’s watch.  The Gavox Squadron also packs something a bit more unexpected.

What might that be, you ask?  Well, you see, the Gavox Squadron actually has an alarm function built into it.  That’s what is represented by the register over at 6 o’clock – what time the alarm is set for.  So, only 12 hours in advance, but it works for what it is.  I still think it feels weird to have a digital chirp coming from an analog watch (just some cognitive dissonance for me), but that’s what it does.  I will warn you that if you are in a noisy setting, you will not hear the alarm.  At home of the office, though, you’ll be good.

All of this is made possible on the Gavox Squadron by the Ronda 5130.D.  The styling on the dial is inspired by 50’s aviation chronos, and I found it to be eminently readable and functional (as you would expect given that an Air Force was involved).  Along with the great styling and functionality on tap, the price is a great deal as well – coming in at $480 for the steel version as we have here, or $520 for a PVD finish.  Gavox has created some really great stuff, and the Gavox Squadron is a solid entry from the brand.

To have a chance to win your own for the low, low price of free, you just need to do a few things:

  1. Comment on this post what your favorite watch with an alarm on it is
  2. Head on over to the Giveaway Page and complete your entry

And that’s it – good luck!

Our thanks to Gavox for sponsoring this month’s giveaway.
