Bulova makes a watch that is precise to 1/1000th of a second. Aptly called the Precisionist, this piece has been around for a decade and is quite a feather in Bulova’s otherwise staid cap. Now a new model is adding gold and Damascus steel to the mix and a few grand to the price.

From the release:

Bulova first unveils the?Precisionist X Limited Edition?watch featured in stainless steel with an 18k yellow gold top ring insert. Limited to 100 pieces, the watch is presented in an elegant box with numbered serial card and plaque, for $3,950. Alongside the limited model, the brand also unveils two new?Precisionist X Special Edition?timepieces featuring top ring inserts made of Damascus steel, a famed type of steel recognizable by the wavy light and dark pattern of the metal.

To be completely clear these guys are quartz watches with a high-precision system built in that allows for a surprisingly specific level of timekeeping. The Precisionist series usually clocks in at about $780 online, a fair price for a solid watch but these special editions are fancier and definitely prettier. They’re available now and clock in at $3,950 for the gold model and $1,295 for the steel.
