Last year, we brought you word of the inaugural collaboration between Moser and Alpine Motorsports. Today, they’ve announced another duo of watches from that team up – one aimed at the drivers, and one designed with the mechanics and pit crew in mind. Let’s take a quick peak at these two new watches

Moser Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition
This isn’t the first time that a chronograph has appeared in the Streamliner family, nor is it the first skeletonized design. But a skeletonized chronograph? This is a first for the Streamliner family of watches. Of course, you know there has to be a Moser twist here, right?
Well, that twist was done to keep legibility – there are no subdials on the watch. You’ve got central hours and minutes (in blue) as well as central chrono minutes and seconds (the narrower handset). Along with exposing the mechanics of the gear train, they’ve also flipped the script and made the rotor visible on the dial side of the watch, taking inspiration from an Alpine wheel rim.

Moser Streamliner Alpine Mechanics Edition
As you can plainly see, there is a digital component to the dial of the second watch being introduced to the collection. That’s right – this is Moser’s first-ever smartwatch. And for me, it’s the best type of smartwatch – one that can hide in plain sight. You see, if you’re not using the smart functions of the watch (GMT with country selector, split-seconds chronograph, perpetual calendar and F1 mode) the screen remains black.
This leaves your eye to be drawn to the traditional analog time display on the
fumé dial, all set, of course, in the Streamliner case. To me, this watch exhibits what Moser is all about, pushing the boundaries of their designs, and blending old and new, seamlessly.

Wrapping things up
And there you have it – the two newest creations in the Moser lineup. Both are limited-editions, with just 200 of the chronograph, and 500 of the smartwatch being made available. They are selling 200 of them as a pair, while the remaining 300 smartwatches will be made available to those who had bought last year’s Alpine watch. Now, for the pricing. The collectors box that has both the Moser Streamliner Alpine Drivers Edition and Mechanics Edition will go for $70,000, while the stand-alone Mechanics Edition will be PRICE.
