Hello, fancy Oris Williams Chronograph, how are you today? For some odd reason I’m a sucker for car-themed chronographs and this new chrono, based on Oris limited editions, is no different. It’s a beautiful carbon-fiber faced model with monster pushers and great readability and won’t break the bank.

From the release:

?
The new watch picks up on the aesthetic first seen in the Williams Chronograph Carbon Fibre Extreme and the Williams Valtteri Bottas Limited Edition, launched earlier this year. Its chronograph sub-dials all reset to a zero point at 8 o’clock, mirroring the dials found on old Formula 1 instrument panels; the chronograph hands are in contrasting Williams blue; the dial features oversized applied numerals at 9 and 3; and the numerals in the minute track around the outside of the dial sit horizontally (rather than following the contours of the case), inspired by the design of the instrument panel of a modern Williams Formula 1 car.

The piece is 44mm and comes on a rubber strap that looks like a bit of tire tread or a nice steel strap. The chrono costs $2,900 and is available now. The best thing, I think, is that this piece doesn’t directly reference racing per se but instead takes the best stuff from F1 and puts it into an homage that anyone can wear.
