So you don’t have $7000 to drop on a wristwatch, but you still want to look stylish when you check the time. Perrelet recently released an iPhone/iPad app that simulates the look of their Double Rotor design. It’s available in a men or women’s version, and also works as a tasteful desk clock. Sure beats the generic “flip clock” look.

The app also uses the accelerometer to “wind” the watch whenever you move your iDevice, and will of course provide information on the history of Perrelet and a link to their website if you are curious. Very cool of Perrelet to come up with this as an alternative to traditional advertising.

  1. Will it stop and show the wrong time if you don’t carry your phone for a while? They can take advantage of the capacitive screen’s multi-touch support and make you pinch and pull out the crown, then turn it to set the right time again.
