Like some steely-eyed Jon Hamm or beguiling Grace Jones circa a View To A Kill, Raven’s new Trekker 40 is the kind of watch you want to wear to a duel or a race car race with an evil British shipping magnate. The watches, limited to 150 pieces, come with Miyota 9015 movement and brushed, blasted, or DLC cases and cost about $750.

But that’s not all! The watchers are actually up for pre-order at $650 on
Raven’s own site.

Raven started off as a Kickstarter watch with its Defender model. This new model, created by Steve Laughlin, is a massive departure from the Defender look and feel and I think it’s an impressive move for the company. The lume and austere face look great and I especially like the DLC model although it is missing a date window.

This, friends, is one of the quintessential intro watches. It has great looks, an automatic movement, and good design. If every Kickstarter watch was like this I’d be in heaven.
