Just in time for the 4th of July (well, it was yesterday), we’ve got word of a new US-exclusive watch release that you’ll be able to wear… on Thanksgiving. Timing of things aside, we wanted to make sure you were aware of the Frederique Constant Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Summer of 76.
Now, to be sure, this is the same Frederique Constant Classics Worldtimer Manufacture that we’ve been seeing since 2012 (and we wrote about here). So, what’s new about this watch? To start with, not the case, not the movement, all that sort of thing (which is fine, as it was a competent watch). This is very much a patriotic paint job that has hit the watch. The glove is done in silver and light blue, the hour scale gets white and dark blue, and then the seconds hand and date track gets splashes of red.
To further differentiate the Frederique Constant Classics Worldtimer Manufacture Summer of 76, they’ve put an American flag at the US Cities (seen above my hometown, Chicago, in these photos), and the date subdial has a star taking the place of the 1. For this release, the watch comes with both white and red alligator straps (mix and match at your whim), as well as a blue rubber strap.
