If you’ve looked at the Oris catalog, you’ve no doubt run across their Big Crown Pointer Date watches. It’s a design they’ve been making since 1938, which is some pretty undeniable staying power. For this latest release, they’ve bronzed all they can, resulting in the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze.

This is not the first time we’ve seen Oris playing with bronze, nor is it the first time this model has seen bronze (we wrote about that right here). So, what’s new here? The fact that they’ve created a bracelet in bronze to go with the watch. Bronze is softer than steel, so I’ll be curious to see how these bracelets hold up over time, in terms of the scuffs and dings of life.

Of course, the bracelet of the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze is going to develop a patina, just like the 40mm case will. It will make for a unique look, but you’ll also want to watch out – I’ve a feeling you might see some green on wrist if you’re wearing this for a decent amount of time. Not from the case, as the steel caseback separates you a bit. That bracelet is going to be the culprit here, I think. Me, I’m just waiting to see someone take this bracelet and the steel version, and come up with a two-town bracelet.

The bracelet of the Oris Big Crown Pointer Date Bronze is definitely rather unique, as I cannot think of another brand that has offered a bronze one (if you know of some, comment below!). For this latest version, you can pick one up in one of four colors for either $2,600 on the bracelet or $2,100 on the leather strap. oris.ch
