If you’re not aware, Triwa has really been on a roll with putting the #tide Ocean Plastic into their watches. Back when I was first introduced to the brand (almost a decade ago) they were doing all sorts of interesting things with plastics and resins, so this just makes sense. Just in time to track just how long you were sitting in the sun, they’ve got a new chronograph – the Triwa Ocean Plastic Timer.

Frankly, either version of the Triwa Ocean Plastic Timer is ready for summer – both carry a 100m WR rating, come on a nylon strap, and are going to be light with the 40mm case made of the recycled ocean plastic. Color-wise, the blue dial might draw the eye more, but the black dial – with it’s sand-colored subdials – feels just as beach ready in our book.

Inside, you’ve got the Seiko VD32 movement, meaning it’ll be reliable and accurate. If you – or someone you know – is interested in unique materials (and cleaning up the oceans) and need a no-fuss chronograph for summer, it would be hard to argue against something like the $229 Triwa Ocean Plastic Timer.
