It’s been a bit since we last looked at a watch from the Baby G line, so let’s rectify that, shall we?

Specifically, we’re look at the model BGA107-1B, which features the following:

  • 36mm resin case (14mm thick)
  • 20 mm resin band
  • Chronograph, calendar, timer
  • Ana-digi display (can track two times if desired)
  • LED lighting
  • 100 m water resistance

As this is a model targeted at the fairer sex, I had my wife help out with this review.  Here are her thoughts on the watch:

I really liked the light pink face and the simple design. I love that it has the day of the week indicator-very helpful for me.  It was fully functional and worked well with my typical mom wear during the week.

However, I think the black plastic band was way too shiny for me. I would consider picking this watch for myself if the watch band wasn’t so shiny. In the end, I found it to be a purely functional, sensible watch with a bit of color that makes me smile.

Of course, it is part of the storied G-Shock line, and that has a proven track record for us watch geeks.  Which means it should stand up to just about any abuse that you can throw at it.  And while only the hands have lume, you do have a built-in (yellow? really?) backlight.

In conclusion, the pink face and shiny plastic band make it a bit more fashion-oriented than their other models.  At around $70 (that price I found it on Amazon), it’s definitely an affordable watch and eminently functional.
