Yesterday, we started taking a look at Sprout Watches, in terms of the materials they use in their watches, as well as digging into one of their men’s models.  Today, we’ll go through the women’s model that they sent over for review, and wrap things up.

My wife was definitely looking forward to being part of this review process.  As she puts it, she can tends toward being a bit “granola”, and as such, likes items that are eco-friendly and can help to cut some plastic from our lives.

The womens watch that we were sent was the Sprout Tyvek®/MOP Watch in white.  It came packaged in a recycled cardboard box (as did the men’s model). Inside the watch was strapped around a small cotton pillow, lending to a nice presentation.

The watch itself is quite simple, with the 35mm case mounted on a grey band, and containing mother of pearl face (sourced in an environmentally-friendly manner, of course).  The white corn resin parts appeared a bit “plasticy”,  which she didn’t care for. However, when that resin took on the grey in the bezel, my wife was much happier with the look.

In terms of testing, she wore this watch for a week. It worked well for her – it kept accurate time, was very lightweight, and went well with her winter wardrobe.  The grey Tyvek band was comfortable, but the color was off-putting.  Against the white of the case case, it looked dirty – almost as if  also white at one time and through wear got discolored into a “gross grey sweaty mess.”

This model goes for $35 and we both think it is appropriately (and affordably) priced. So, if you (or your significant other) is like my wife, and would appreciate the materials used in the watch, this would be a great (and affordable) purchase.  If your sentiment on the color combination matches, you may wish to consider the same model in black, or any of their other models.
