We’ve looked at a few different eco-friendly watch models in the past, and I had another one come across my desk, this time as well in a women’s model.  This means that once again, I got to enlist my lovely wife to help with the review.  Read on for her thoughts!

The particular model from the Canadian company Tense that we were sent has a model designation of  L7509WM.  It features a dark sandlewood and maple finish.  The case itself measures in at 26mm wide by 10mm thick, all on a 13mm bracelet (also wooden).  So, what did my wife think of the watch?

I love the idea of a wooden watch. I like the wood grain; that said, I wasn’t wild about the black and light brown color combo of this model. I would have preferred completely light brown or a slightly darker brown instead of black.

Coloration aside, I like the simpleness of the numerals and hands. It also was so nice and lightweight-I forgot I had it on.  I had to take two links out to get it to stay on my wrist – but even with that adjustment, the latch was hard for me to do myself.

In the end, I could see wearing this as an everyday watch – just not for exercising or for anything fancy. Those two exceptions aside, it would be appropriate for most days and outfits for me.

So, as you can see, my wife did like the piece (the color combo could be resolved by one of their other models), and I can confirm it has a nice feel in the hand.  You might balk at $109 for a simple three-hander, but the wooden finish is the reason for the premium.  Should you spring for one, you’ll have a quartz-driven watch with a two year warranty.
