Today, friends, we’re going to have a look at one of the best (if not the best) looking watches from Timex that I’d have the pleasure to review. The model in question is the T Series Racing Chronograph, and our particular review sample one of four different color combinations available.
Ours, as you can see by the picture, was in a brushed and blue combination, which just looks clean. It works in either an office or casual environment; it can even work in a dressier environment on the black textured canvas strap. The contrast of the white used for numerals, indices, and hands just make things easy to read. I also enjoyed the dark argent finish on the crown and pushers – just enough to set them off, but not such a departure as silver or black would have been.
Ok, ok, enough on the looks (did I mention this is a sharp-looking watch?) – let’s have a peek at what functionality there is on offer here. Quite obviously, the chronograph is the main function on offer here. It works just as expected (though there isn’t any feedback via the pushers). The large seconds hand springs into motion when you start things (as would the 30 minute register at 10 o’clock).
The 1/20 second register (at 2 o’clock), however, stays quiet until you stop the timing – at which point, it whips around and indicates where in that particular second you happen to be. While this is likely not of much use to many of us, it is an interesting bit of accuracy. And I suppose it could also be used in conjunction with the printed tachymeter scale to calculate out speeds.
