As I mentioned a few days ago, The Batman is releasing soon (March 2 internationally, and March 4 here in the States) so that means we’re seeing a lot of movie tie-ins. For the well-heeled collector that feels a bit more like Bruce Wayne than The Bat, there’s the The Batman X Kross Studio.

As we’ve seen with their prior movie tie-ins (here and here, for example) they start with a base of their tourbillon watch, complete with the rotating cage set in the center of the dial, and the push button on the case side to engage the time set mode (making for a very smooth and crown-less case profile). This one, of course, is done up in red and black to match the color scheme of the new Batmobile (as well as the ’66 version), and the tourbillon cage features the grille of the Batsignal of the new movie.

So, you’ve got a clever and themed watch, and of course I’m a fan. I mean, it’s a highly technical watch and it’s Batman themed, for crying out loud. What really sets the The Batman X Kross Studio collaboration apart is the “display case” it comes in. It’s a functional Batsignal (LED-powered) that stands proud on a shelf, waiting to shine out into the darkness of the night. Is it a bit of overkill? Absolutely, but I dig it for it’s over-the-top nature.

Only 10 of these will be produced, so odds of seeing one in the wild are about as low as seeing Batman out during the day. If you want to get one, you’ll need to set down $100,000 to get this watch and spotlight. Of note, they’re also releasing some watch rolls (haven’t seen photos of those) for $250 apiece. Myself, I’d be tickled to see them sell the Batsignal on it’s own, or even in a pairing with their Batmobile desk clock. Check it out over at
