More precisely, they’ve introduced the Ocean Two. While there are actually five color variations, I’m going to showcase the one that really grabbed my eye – the one in white.
For whatever reasons, white-dialed watches have really been grabbing my eye as of late. Here, of course, that palette extends to the bezel – which is a sapphire inlay, and is indeed carrying some additional lume (another favorite feature as of late). One surprise here is that the crown also has a sapphire inlay – totally unnecessary but a cool feature in my book.
Rather than being powered by their in-house movement, the Ocean Two is driven by an ETA 2824-2, housed in the 43mm stainless steel case (13mm thick, 22mm lugs). Snugged in the center of that sapphire bezel you had a domed sapphire crystal, with the requisite AR coating. Rounding out the “hard” specs, the watch is carrying a 300m water resistance rating – so, in theory, you could use this watch if you actually went diving.
Coming in at just over $530 (plus shipping) for those of us outside the EU, this is yet another very intriguing option in the niche of small make divers. At this point, I’m thankful I’m not researching a personal purchase in this segment, as it would be very hard to narrow down the field – I think today’s diver buyer is all but spoiled for choice in the $500 range.
