When it comes to big blockbuster movies, there are all sorts of brand tie-ins. Sometimes it’s stuff that shows up in the movie, and other times, it’s branding that hits a particular product, giving fans another way to show their support for the franchise other than a t-shirt or sticker. Frankly, this new Fantastic Four version of the Citizen Zenshin is a great way to approach it.

What’s different about this version of the Citizen Zenshin?

That’s a valid question, right? While you might not be familiar with the model, but you will recognize the look of the integrated lugs set onto an octagonal case. Integrated bracelets like this are popular, and it’s particularly fitting for a movie hailing from the 60s era.

To set this one apart, it’s all on the dial. First off, you’ve got a blue used that is inspired by the classic Fantastic Four uniforms. Then, you’ve got markers at the compass points (12,3,6,9) that are inspired by the powers of the team: Mister Fantastic’s stretching ability, Invisible Woman’s invisibility, Human Torch’s flames, and The Thing’s rocky exterior. Finally – and most visibly – the Fantastic Four logo appears at 4 o’clock, lending another spot of lume to the dial.

Anything else?

Past some of the packaging details – and a commemorative coin in the box – this Citizen Zenshin is just like those that have preceded it. This means you have a case and bracelet made of titanium (light and tough), topped by a sapphire crystal that lets the light in to power the Eco-Drive movement. In short, the very sort of watch that would feel very space age back in the 60s, and one that looks contemporary today.

Wrapping things up

The Fantastic Four version of the Citizen Zenshin was just announced today, with delivery of the 1,100 units planned for the end of July (probably around the release date of the movie, which is July 25). As we anticipated, pricing will be a little higher than the “stock” watch, and comes in at a $100 premium, netting out at $595. Want to get one? You can head right on over to citizenwatch.com
